Machining route

Plan the part before choosing the machine

Machining decisions should start with the component function, not only the available machine envelope. The route depends on weight, material, welded or heat-treated condition, datum references, tolerances, and which features control fit in the final assembly.

Confirm drawings, model, photos, material, dimensions, weight, current condition, and critical fit features.

Set datums

Choose reference faces, bores, journals, centerlines, or fixture points before rough machining begins.

Sequence work

Plan turning, milling, grinding, drilling, welding, heat treatment, or stress relief in the order that protects final geometry.

Account for distortion, hard spots, welded zones, access limits, clamping marks, and measurement points.

Large vertical and parallel turning

BRUVAL works with CNC turning machines on parts up to 7000 mm diameter with CNC vertical turning and up to 16000 mm length with CNC parallel turning. The section is also equipped with conventional turning machines.

Milling

5-axis CNC milling

All milling operations are performed using 5-axis CNC milling machines travelling up to 16000 x 3000 x 2000 mm.

Grinding

Corrective and completion adjustment

BRUVAL performs corrective adjustment to improve geometry and final dimensions, plus completion adjustment for visual look and surface condition.
